Woke up today knocks at the door. My parents are gone currently and my brother, Sam, would rather die than get up past 1 in the afternoon, so naturally, I would have to be the one to answer the door.
After scrambling around for some form of clothing and putting on a semi-happy face, I answered the door. It turned out to be my mom's friend, Jenny. She had stopped by to deliver a nymph-stage opened shell that once contained an adult dragonfly.
I have the dragonfly that came from the shell, but what is really cool about dragonflies, is their larva stage. They are aquatic and live in pond-type areas. They are one of the fewer types of insects that actually have 'gills'. And they eat just about anything you can find in a pond. The have an really interesting way of killing there prey. Under there mouth they have a sort of extending arm thing. It's really cool. And it's sharp. They can use it to kill small fish and frogs, and other insects in the water.
